Summary:
The Community Banker serves as a front-line sales and service banker for prospects and customers seeking to establish and cultivate a relationship with Frontier Bank. A Community Banker has typically held the role as a Community Banking Representative or equivalent and has earned the title of a Community Banker by successfully onboarding new customers and cross-selling our products and services at an exceptional level. A Community Banker is an expert on our products and services and uncovers the financial needs of both prospects and customers to best serve their financial needs. This role also drives growth to the branch by effectively prospecting new business independently or by partnering with leadership within the bank.
Additionally, a Community Banker may provide leadership to Community Banking Representatives and assist with community engagement, development, and training opportunities.
Primary Responsibilities:

- Engages with prospects, customers and borrowers to discuss both business and consumer financial needs as well as consumer lending needs.
- Ask for referrals and promotes other bank business products and services.
- Generates new business through educating and cross selling the bank’s products and services to new and existing customers.
- Assists with transactional duties, including teller functions, open new deposit accounts, process consumer loan applications, and refers opportunities to the senior lending team for real estate and business loans.
- Grant customer access to safe deposit box and vault access according to the Bank’s security policies and procedures.
- Assists in maintaining all dual-control logs while maintaining operational efficiency.
- Maintains a position of trust and responsibility by keeping all employee and customer information confidential and secure.
- Contributes to a team environment by answering incoming telephone calls, emails and inquiries while offering expert financial assistance.
- Provides key leadership and expertise on the core processing system, expert on policies and procedures, and effectively prospecting while growing the branch.
- Utilizes a needs-based methodology to assess customer financial needs and provides solutions that align with those needs.
- Adheres to strict compliance rules and regulations to provide optimal operational efficiency.
- Understands how to formulate appropriate open-ended questions that spark conversations resulting in uncovering financial needs of customers, prospects and community members.
- Leverages our software programs such as S&P Global to conduct effective research on prospects and utilizes that information for intentional prospecting efforts and cold calling.
- Promotes our stellar Treasury Management products and services including but not limited to, merchant services, debit cards, online banking, credit cards, Positive Pay, RDC and ACH.
- Partners with management to source and win business, including new deposits, loans, and related services.
- Supports senior leadership in achieving branch goals in growing the branch with deposits and referrals for lending and wealth management.
- Completes all required BAI, security and assigned annual trainings while seeking opportunity for continuous professional development.
- Actively seeks participation in community events, CRA activities, and other opportunities to represent Frontier Bank with distinction.
- Knowledge on BSA, AML, OFAC and CIP regulations.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned by the leadership team.
Competency and Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
College Degree and/or college level course work in finance, business management, and/or accounting, or equivalent training, is encouraged. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 3 years related banking experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language and Communication Ability:
The individual must be able to articulate, communicate, and display the Frontier Bank of Texas values. The individual must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals and literature, laws and regulations and legal documents. The individual must have the ability to respond to common inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, members of the community, shareholders, and others. The individual must have the ability to effectively communicate in writing to many audiences, including shareholders, Board of Directors, executives, CEO, customers, and others.
Driving Requirements:
Candidates must possess a valid Texas driver’s license and maintain personal vehicle insurance that meets the state’s minimum requirements. A satisfactory driving record is essential. Reliable, insured personal transportation is required for commuting to assigned branch locations, attending client meetings, and participating in community events. This role involves regular driving as part of daily responsibilities, including transporting materials, visiting client sites, and representing the company at off-site engagements.
Reasoning Ability:
The individual must have the ability to define problems, solve problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. The individual must have the ability to interpret technical instructions and to deal with abstract and concrete issues.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess knowledge of word processing software, spread sheet software, internet software, and contact management systems. The individual must have the organizational skills to utilize Microsoft Outlook for appointment setting and other duties.
