Summary:
The Business Development, Community Banking Officer serves as the front-line sales and service banker for Frontier Bank prospects and customers, focusing on both household and business relationships. This officer-level position is responsible for acquiring, servicing, and retaining new business, supporting branch operations, and actively engaging in community partnerships and events. The role combines inbound and outbound business development with operational and customer service excellence.
Primary Responsibilities

- Provide superior service to prospects and clients, ensuring excellent customer experience.
- Actively seek to acquire, service, and retain new business, including deposit accounts, consumer loans, mortgage loans, small business loans, and related opportunities.
- Perform all sales and service duties related to onboarding new customers and deepening relationships with existing customers.
- Onboard new deposit relationships, partnering with community banking representatives and community bankers to ensure a smooth account opening process for the client. Cross sell and engage the Digital Banking team as needed to sell Treasury Management products.
- Assist with teller and branch operations, including cash drawer needs, ATM reconciliation, and teller line management as needed in order to ensure operational success of the branch.
- Support and mentor Community Banking Representatives and Community Bankers; cross-train team members.
- Take consumer loan applications and refer opportunities to the senior lending team; partner with senior lending team on commercial real estate and larger commercial loan opportunities.
- Retain management of ICS portfolio and high-dollar customers; assume more lending duties over time.
- Engage in outbound business calls with lenders and act as subject matter expert for depository offerings and digital services.
- Develop and maintain community partnerships (e.g., Chamber membership, realtors, Economic Development Board); participate in CRA activities and represent the bank at community events.
- Prospect for new small business, not-for-profit, public, and household relationships; leverage advanced prospecting tools (e.g., S&P Global, Vertical IQ).
- Consistently perform sales activities
, including outbound calling efforts to businesses and referral sources,
to drive new business in deposits and loan referrals to the branch. - Perform necessary audits to maintain compliance with all bank policies.
- Engage in a needs-based approach to determine client needs and respond with appropriate solutions.
- Collaborate with other Portfolio Managers to source and win business, including new deposits, loans, and related services.
- Effectively work with teams inside and outside of a branch environment.
