Summary:

Vice President, Community Banking is a producing leader responsible for building and growing Frontier Bank’s portfolio of small business, residential, and commercial clients. This individual will serve as a leader within the branch and the community, partnering with the operations manager to drive growth and engagement.

Primary Responsibilities:

Demonstrate Frontier Bank of Texas values: HONESTY, LOYALTY, DEPENDABILITY, LEADERSHIP, COMMUNITY, RESPECT.

  • Partner with the operations manager to lead the branch team in deposit and loan growth, development and cross-training of branch staff and operational excellence of the branch.
  • Prospect for, acquire, service, and retain new and meaningful household, small business, and commercial deposit and loan relationships.
  • Perform financial analysis, structure credit transactions, and monitor credit quality within assigned portfolios.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of the Bank’s products, services, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Represent the Bank in civic and community functions to enhance visibility and business development including CRA activities.
  • Complete all required annual training and pursue continuous professional development.
  • Monitor credit quality, perform annual reviews, and manage covenant compliance.
  • Participate in loan committee meetings and ensure timely decision-making and documentation.
  • Use advanced prospecting tools including S&P Global and Vertical IQ solutions to acquire and grow relationships.
  • Knows or seeks to learn how to ask appropriate questions to open conversations that lead to strong relationships with our customers, prospects, and communities.
  • Knows and sells our advanced Digital Banking solutions, including all our top-rated Treasury Management products, mobile, online, debit cards, credit cards, and related services.
  • Performs all sales and service duties related to onboarding new customers and deepening relationships with existing customers.
  • Partners with other Portfolio Managers to source and win business, including new deposits, loans, and related services.

Education/Experience:

College-level coursework and/or a degree in finance, business management, or accounting is highly encouraged. Minimum of 5 years of banking experience preferred. Must be NMLS-licensed and experienced in small business, residential, and commercial lending. Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for building relationships inside and outside the bank.

Language and Communication Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, laws, and legal documents.

Communicate effectively with customers, regulators, community members, and internal stakeholders. Display and promote all Frontier Bank values in verbal and written communication.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Demonstrate sound judgment and decision-making in both routine and complex situations.

Computer Skills:

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams. Comfortable using CSI, Sageworks/Abrigo, CRM tools, and other advanced banking software.

Driving Requirements:

Candidates must have a valid Texas driver’s license and maintain personal vehicle insurance that meets the state's minimum requirements. A satisfactory driving record is essential. Reliable, insured personal transportation is required for commuting to assigned branch locations, attending client meetings, and participating in community events as needed.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

Moderate noise levels are typical of a professional office environment. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
